What's Inside?
New for Spring 2024! Created in collaboration with The Wildlife Trusts to encourage more planting of pollinator friendly plants within lawns, Lawn Flowers can be scattered on bare soil with or without grass seed, or grown amongst existing lawns by cutting out little patches for the balls. Seedball donates £1 to The Wildlife Trusts for every bag sold.
Each seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of Meadow Buttercup, Common Daisy, Common Dandelion, White Clover, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Red Clover, Cowslip, Self Heal and Yellow Rattle – low growing wildflowers which can often be spotted within grassy areas or grazed fields.
Each bag contains 100 seed balls, enough to cover 5 square metres 15-25 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball). Best scattered in Spring or Autumn.

Meadow Buttercup (Ranunculus acris)
The tallest of our native buttercups, meadow buttercup has distinctive yellow petals.
Height: 5-100cm
Flowers: April to October
Common Daisy (Bellis Perennis)
One of most familiar flowers of all!
Height: Up to 10cm
Flowers: Can be seen in flower through spring and summer
Common Dandelion (Taraxacum Officinale)
A common perennial that is especially great for butterflies.
Height: 4-45cm
Flowers: Can be seen in flower through spring and summer
Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus)
A perennial with clusters of yellow/orange pea like leaves.
Height: 15-25cm
Flowers: May to October
Lotus corniculatus is such a sunny little thing, why not try it mixed into your summer baskets and patio pots?
Self Heal (Prunella vulgaris)
Perennial.
Height: 10-50cm
Flowers: June to September
The common name Self heal, sometimes written as Self-heal, refers to the plant having been used as a treatment for wounds and bruises until recent times.
Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)
Perennial with trefoil leaves and pinky red flowers. Good weed suppressor.
Height: 10-45cm
Flowers: May to September
The trifolium can help to break up heavy soil over time, plus it adds nitrogen to the soil, meaning healthy plants all round!
White Clover (Trifolium repens)
Perennial.
Height: 10-30cm
Flowers: April to November
Experts claim that there are about 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover.
Cowslip (Primula veris)
Perennial.
Height: 20-30cm
Flowers: April to May
The origin of the name cowslip is unclear, but it may derive from the fact that it grows in meadows well manured by cow dung or cow slips.
Yellow Rattle (Rhinanthus Minor)
A quick growing grassland annual with yellow flowers and two purple 'teeth'.
Height: 45cm
